About Us
Hackware, Inc. was established in 1996 as a software development firm that specialized in creating
custom software systems developed with Microsoft's Visual Foxpro development platform.
Over the years, development expanded to include the use of Microsoft's .Net development
platform and SQL Server database server, as well as the open source MySQL database engine.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is simple. Develop software that works the way the client needs it to work!
We believe that software should make the user's job easier, not more difficult. So,
we strive to determine the user's exact needs and find ways to make their job simpler. When done
correctly, the cost of the system is neglible when compared to the cost savings in the long run due
to the increase in user productivity.

Over the years, dozens of custom computer systems have been developed for clients in such diverse
industries as legislative information tracking, E-RATE bidding for schools, oil & gas accounting,
medical scheduling and billing, POS-systems, online sealed-bidding, online boiler inspection system,
insurance policy information management to name but just a few.

Although started as a traditional, desktop-based software company, our focus in recent years has shifted
to developing static and/or fully-interactive web sites. This means we can do whatever you need done,
whether that need is for a traditional, desktop-based application or a fully-interactive web site.
